This One Genshin Impact 5.0 Leak Will Get Me Playing Daily Again (2024)

Ahead of the release of the update, there is a new Genshin Impact 5.0 leak circulating, and it may just be what I needed to go back to happily playing daily, rather than only logging in to sufferably complete my daily bounties. Version 5.0 is the next big update for HoYoverse’s popular action RPG. The patch will finally introduce the Nation of Natlan and its related contents. This includes the new region-exclusive gameplay mechanics, such as the usage of Saurians as mounts, for example. Of course, the new Natlan characters in Genshin Impact are also a huge selling point.

Characters bring with them new abilities and new team comp possibilities. While these are the more straightforward additions, it is also expected that the game will undergo smaller updates that optimize players’ experience with the world of Teyvat. In fact, one of the best Genshin Impact 5.0 changes may have nothing to do with the arrival of Natlan itself. Now, a new Version 5.0 leak is circulating, and it is referring to a quality-of-life update. If the leak is true, the new function may completely revolutionize the game, possibly addressing (yet not ending) one of its worst problems.

Artifact Crafting May Be Added With Genshin Impact 5.0

The Function Is Rumored To Allow Players To Select A Piece’s Stats

According to information provided by the leaker known as Foul, which was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit, Version 5.0 will introduce a new gadget that will allow players to craft Artifacts, selecting both the main stat and the sub-stats for the piece they are creating. Foul’s leak mentions that players will have access to two of these new rumored items every update, but the means of obtaining one of them is currently unknown. The other one, as seen in HomDGCat’s leak on the same post, can be obtained by unlocking the battle pass in Genshin Impact.

The leaker mentions that players will need to reach level 26 in the Gnostic Hymn to gain access to one copy of the rumored Artifact-crafting item. If this leak is, indeed, true, it may be revolutionary to how we experience the game. Currently, Artifact grinding is one of the biggest problems with the title’s structure. The stats and sub-stats for Artifacts are always randomized when dropped from Domains and getting the ideal 5-star piece with the best stats to fit the best build for characters is and has always been a grinding nightmare in Genshin Impact.

Players can go through all their daily resin and never see a good piece to give to their characters. In fact, they may not even drop the piece they want, as Artifact Domains often drop pieces from two distinct sets. Even so, players may simply get a piece with HP as the main stat, when they were searching for one with CRIT Rate, for example. It is possible to transform unusable Artifacts into more copies via Artifact Strongboxes at Alchemy Tables, but not only is the loot randomized, not every Artifact set has a Strongbox equivalent in Genshin Impact.

Leaked Function May Save Genshin Impact’s Grinding Problem

The Rumored Item Does Not Fix Everything, But It’s A Step Forward

If the new Version 5.0 leak is true, it could represent a major change. Often, players get stuck missing one final perfect Artifact in builds, and farming daily is not really the solution. The uncertainty of the drops is very demotivating and can lead players to stray away from the game, as has happened with me on multiple occasions. Characters that players have saved Primogems for are acquired but then left incomplete because of the lack of proper Artifact pieces, which simply do not drop when you most need them – this is true for my Cyno in Genshin Impact.

Even if limited, these rumored consumables may be just what you need to push your characters toward the perfect build. Seeing that at least one of these copies is also locked behind the battle pass, it may also force us to finally start playing daily to ensure we reach the level 26 minimum threshold to obtain it. Of course, it is uncertain if the item is locked behind the F2P (free-to-play) or premium track. If it is locked behind the premium Genshin Impact battle pass, players may rely on only one copy per update, if the other one is F2P.

For now, the leak should be considered with some caution, as it may be incorrect, subject to change, or even have its release postponed beyond Version 5.0. Nevertheless, the mention of the resource in leaks does shine some hope on the game optimizing its player experience. It will not resolve the big issue with Artifact grinding, but it may offer some limited comfort and, possibly, attract players back to the game in search of the perfect build for their Genshin Impact characters.
